Abstract

Using the stereomicroscope and slide caliper morphological and morphometric characteristics of ectoparasites Pennella balaenopterae found on the fin whale (Balaenoptera physalus) Cuvier's beaked whale (Ziphius cavirostris) Risso's dolphin (Grampus griseus) and bottlenose dolphin (Tursiops truncatus) from the Adriatic Sea were examined. Sewenteen parasites conserved in 4 % water diluted formalin were examined. For the first time for this species ventral horn is described. This is the first description of Pennella balaenopterae in the Adriatic Sea.
